Have you ever had an epiphany? Now you can, right in the palm of your hand! This special deck was designed to allow new and experienced magicians to easily read the markings while having fun entertaining spectators.
The Epiphany Deck is a creative project of Chris Savas, a professional event photographer who took up card magic to stay busy and mentally stimulated while sheltering at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After purchasing and trying out many different kinds of cards, he realized that most of the marked decks he bought were too hard to read, particularly in low light situations.
That’s when he had the idea to create and design his own marked deck that would be easy for the magician to read quickly without tipping off the spectator.
The result is the beautiful deck you see here, printed by Cartamundi on their Legendary True Linen B9 Finish, featuring original artwork and fun alterations to the court cards to make them more whimsical and interesting.
Perfect for all kinds of tricks, these stylish cards were designed with all magicians in mind – from the aspirational rookie to the seasoned professional!
The Epiphany deck comes with four gaff cards:
· 1 - DOUBLE-BACKER
· 1- BLANK
· 1 - DOUBLE-FACE
· 1 - JOKER
I did not include a duplicate card and here's why: I found that many of my tricks need a duplicate to perform but I didn’t want to have to use the same card every time.
I also wanted to include three gaffs plus the Joker. If I had two Jokers, like most decks have, I would have to sacrifice one of the other gaff cards. This is why I didn't include two of them.
If you want to do tricks that require a duplicate card, the best thing to do is buy more than one deck. This will give you duplicates of everything. While this may seem like a marketing ploy, it really isn’t – it’s what I do when buying cards for my routines.
This deck is dedicated to my parents Homer and Joan Savas.
They always loved to play card games and magic tricks.
My Dad's nickname was HOMER, so I added that to the
bottom of the custom Ace of Spades.
My Dad called my Mom JOKIE, so I added that to the Joker.
